Srinagar:: Manipal Hospitals, based in Gurugram, has inaugurated a specialized Urology and Renal Transplant outpatient department (OPD) in Srinagar to improve access to advanced urological care in the region.
The facility will provide expert consultations for various kidney disorders, prostate conditions, renal cancers, and transplant-related issues, with guidance from Dr. Arif Akhtar, a leading consultant in urology and renal transplant. Urological disorders are increasingly prevalent in India, particularly kidney stones and cancers, attributed to factors such as inadequate hydration, poor dietary habits, obesity, and sedentary lifestyles. Additionally, advancements in treatment methods, including minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgeries, are enhancing patient outcomes.
