DC Srinagar holds Block Diwas, Public Grievance Redressal Camp at Panzinara

Gulmarg :Deputy Commissioner(DC) Srinagar, AkshayLabroo on Wednesday   conducted an extensive tour of Panzinara area in the outskirts of the District and holds a Mega Public Grievance Redressal Camp to bring administration at the door steps of the people to listen their issues and developmental needs as a part of Block Diwas Programme.

The DC also presided over an Awareness-cum-Registration Camp on Ayushman Vay Vandana scheme as a part of District Administration’s outreach efforts to ensure maximum coverage of eligible senior citizens aged 70 years and above under the scheme providing additional health support of Rs 5 Lakh over and above the existing cover aimed to strengthen senior citizen health security.

The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz, IAS Probationer, Alfred Thomas, Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Superintending SDM West, Irfan Bahadur, Assistant Commissioner Development, Tariq Ahmad Reshi, Block Development Officer, Qamarwari, Saima Ahad, Deputy CEO. Anjum Raja, Executive Engineer, R&B, District Manager CSC, Asrar Shirazi and other District Officers.

The Public Grievance Redressal camp witnessed large participation of people from Panzinara-A, Panzinara-B, Mujgund and other adjoining areas of Shalteng Tehsil of Srinagar District during which local representatives, public delegations and scores of individuals projected various developmental issues and demands before the Deputy Commissioner particularly the long pending issue arising out of jurisdictional dispute with Baramulla and Bandipora Districts.

Besides, they also demanded for updation of settlement records by Revenue authorities, development of play fields, strengthening irrigation canals, macadamization of inner lonk roads, repair of Jhelum embankment, augmentation of water supply infrastructure, provision of bank ATM facility and other development issues.

After giving patient hearing to the grievances and demands of the public, the DC assured the people of Panzinara and other adjoining areas that all genuine demands and issues projected by them will be taken up with concerned authorities on priority particularly with regard to jurisdictional issues.

The DC also gave on the spot direction to the concerned officers for time bound redressal of the public issues.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner led an  Awareness-cum-Registration Camp on Ayushman Vay Vandana (PM-JAY)  at Panzinar-B organised by Chief Medical Officer which witnessed enthusiastic participation from elderly residents. The participants were apprised of the benefits and advantages of the Vay Vandana health coverage initiative.

Addressing the gathering, the DC elaborated on the significance of the Ayushman Vay Vandana Card and encouraged senior citizens to come forward and enroll under the scheme. He stated that the initiative is designed to safeguard elderly citizens aged 70 years and above by offering extensive health coverage and protecting them from the financial burden of medical treatment, thereby promoting dignity and well-being in their later years.

The DC urged all eligible citizens to get registered under the scheme to ensure comprehensive coverage of all eligible beneficiaries under the scheme, so that no deserving senior citizen is left out and the benefits of the initiative reach every eligible individual across the district.

During the programme, the DC also handed over VayVandhana cards to the elegible beneficiaries of Qamarwari Block of the District.
