Kathua :In a continued effort to strengthen public outreach and ensure prompt redressal of public grievances at the grassroots level, the District Administration KathuaWednesday  organised a Grievance Redressal Camp at Panchayat GharDilwan, Block Kathua.

The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from local residents, former PRI representatives and members of the public.

Officers from various departments were present on the occasion to listen to public issues and provide on-the-spot responses. The locals projected several demands and concerns related to flash flood damages, drinking water supply, damaged road connectivity, restoration of school infrastructure and other civic amenities.

Addressing the gathering, the MLA Kathua Dr Bharat Bhushan appreciated the prompt efforts made by the district administration during and after the flash floods in the affected areas. He assured the public that all genuine issues would be addressed and reiterated that the administration stands firmly committed to the reconstruction and restoration of the affected localities.

He further informed that proposals for permanent restoration of roads and water supply schemes have already been submitted to higher authorities and work on the same would be initiated soon. The MLA also distributed cheques under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) among beneficiaries who had totally or partially lost their houses due to the flash floods.

While interacting with the public, the Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma reaffirmed the administration’s commitment towards responsive, transparent and citizen-centric governance. Responding to concerns regarding rain-related damages, he informed that restoration measures are already underway and permanent proposals have been submitted for approval.

He directed the concerned officers to ensure timely disposal of pending issues and maintain close coordination with the public for effective grievance redressal.

The DC also highlighted the benefits of Mission YUVA and Labour Card initiatives and urged the youth and workers to avail themselves of the opportunities provided under these welfare schemes for self-employment and social security.

A pledge under the “NashaMukt Jammu Kashmir” Abhiyan was also administered during the camp, reaffirming the collective commitment towards building a drug-free society.

Among others present were ADC Vishavjeet Singh, IAS Probationer Nidhi, CPO Ranjeet Thakur, ACD Akhil Sadotra and other district and sectoral officers.
