Srinagar: Two labourers were found dead under mysterious circumstances at Dalipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday morning.

SSP Pulwama Mohd Aslam Choudary told GNS that, four persons who were working as labourers were found in unconscious state by the locals of the area inside a rented room at Dalipora village. All the persons were immediately shifted to nearby hospital were doctors declared two of them dead.

The officer identified the deceased as Nasir Ahmad Kalas son of shah Ali Kalas and Mohd Ashraf Kalas son of Abdul Haleem of Abhama.

The condition of the other two namely as Mohammad Amin and Riyaz Ahmad are said to be stable, he said.

“The bodies were taken for post mortem at district hospital and other legal formalities, to ascertain the actual cause of death,” he said.

The officer said that apparently it seems the deceased died of suffocation due to the ‘coal gas heater’ which they used to warm themselves last night, he said.

“Proceedings under section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code were initiated into the incident”, he said. (GNS)
