Sopore : Jammu and Kashmir Police have intensified their 100-Day NashaMukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan in Police District Sopore, focusing on combating drug abuse through a multi-faceted approach.
Awareness programmes were held at several educational institutions, including Government Higher Secondary School Rohama and APNA Public School Wadoora, where students and staff were educated on the detrimental effects of drug abuse. The sessions emphasized the importance of education, sports, and parental guidance in preventing addiction. To further promote awareness, anti-drug rallies were organized, featuring participants carrying placards with messages advocating for a drug-free lifestyle. A foot march in Sopore Town, in collaboration with local associations, showcased a united front against drug-related issues, involving police, civil administration, and community members. In addition to awareness efforts, the campaign included enforcement actions, such as inspections of medical stores to ensure compliance with regulations. Police in a statement issued here on Monday reiterated that a combination of strict enforcement and ongoing community engagement is essential for the success of the NashaMukt initiative. They remain committed to a zero-tolerance policy towards drug peddling, aiming to foster a safer and healthier environment free from substance abuse.
