Srinagar : As part of the ongoing NashaMukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan, Police on Monday conducted a special anti-drug cordon and search operation across several identified NDPS hotspots falling under the jurisdiction of Police Stations Keller and Zainapora.
The operation was carried out as part of sustained efforts to curb drug abuse and dismantle local drug networks. Police teams conducted intensive searches in areas including Keller, Vishroo and MelhuraZainapora, targeting the residences of suspected drug peddlers and focusing on individuals vulnerable to substance abuse. In addition, thorough searches were conducted in unoccupied areas, abandoned buildings and dilapidated structures. These locations, identified as vulnerable to misuse by drug addicts and anti-social elements, were systematically covered to prevent their use for unlawful activities.
In a statement issued here on Monday Police reiterated its firm commitment to take strict action against drug abuse and related offences and appealed people to cooperate and share any information regarding drug trafficking or substance abuse, assuring therein that identity of informants shall be kept strictly confidential.
