Srinagar, Apr 25: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Saturday forecast light rain and thunder at scattered places across Jammu and Kashmir on April 25, with gusty winds expected at a few locations during afternoon and evening hours.
According to the MeT department, April 26 is likely to remain mainly dry across the Union Territory. However, weather conditions are expected to change from April 27-28, with one or two spells of light rain or thunder anticipated at many places, particularly during afternoon hours.
The weather is likely to remain generally dry again on April 29 and 30, the department said.
Meanwhile, the MeT Centre has issued an advisory warning of hot and dry weather conditions in parts of the Jammu division, including Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Reasi and Udhampur districts, over the next three days.
“Heat wave conditions are likely at a few places on April 25 and 26,” the advisory reads, urging people to avoid heat exposure during peak hours and to stay hydrated by consuming sufficient fluids, ORS and traditional drinks like lassi.
The department has advised residents, particularly in vulnerable areas, to take necessary precautions during the ongoing spell of rising temperatures.
