Budgam : Police on Wednesday said that it has intensified enforcement actions across the district during the current week.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday Police said that a total of two FIRs have been registered at Police Stations Charar-i-Sharief and Chadoora. Moreover, 21 vehicles involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals have been seized. The seized vehicles include 14 tippers, 06 tractors, and 01 JCB, which were impounded from various areas of the district, including Humhama, Charar-i-Sharief, Pakherpora, Waterhail, Beerwah, and Gariend Kalan Soibugh. In addition to legal action, fines amounting to thousands of rupees have also been imposed on the violators by the Department of Geology and Mining.
