Srinagar, Apr 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday expressed grief over the loss of lives in a tragic bus accident in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a condolence message, the Prime Minister said he was pained to hear about the incident and extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
Announcing ex gratia relief, the Prime Minister said that an amount of ₹2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) will be provided to the next of kin of each deceased, while the injured will be given ₹50,000.
The accident has claimed multiple lives and left several others injured, with rescue and relief operations underway.
