*Baramulla | 17 April : n a continued effort to engage youth in constructive activities and promote a drug-free society, Baramulla Police today organized the inaugural function of a boys’ Kabaddi tournament at the Indoor Stadium Baramulla under the Civic Action Programme.
The tournament was formally inaugurated by the Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Baramulla, in the presence of other police officials and civil officers. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from young players and spectators, reflecting the growing interest in sports as a positive avenue for youth development.
The programme was conducted under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, aimed at spreading awareness against drug abuse. The event commenced with participants taking a pledge to uphold the ideals of a drug-free India and to contribute towards building a healthy and safe society.
Speaking on the occasion, officers highlighted the importance of sports in shaping discipline, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle among youth, while also steering them away from the menace of substance abuse.
