Srinagar, Apr 17: Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari on Friday visited SMHS Hospital here to inquire about the health of Khazir Mohammad Sheikh, the ailing father of incarcerated Member of Parliament Engineer Rashid, who is battling a critical illness.
In a post on social media, Bukhari said that Khazir Sahib has been placed on ventilator support and his condition is “extremely serious”, with the family going through a difficult and distressing time.
Expressing solidarity with the family, he prayed for the patient’s speedy recovery and strength to overcome the grave condition.
Bukhari also urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to consider granting parole to Engineer Rashid so that he can be with his ailing father and family members during this crisis.
He said allowing the MP to be with his family at such a time would be a humane and dignified decision and would be appreciated across Jammu and Kashmir.
