Under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Police on Thursday said to have apprehended two drug peddlers during naka checking at Arch Kana area of Awantipora district.
A Spokesperson said that police party of PP Toll Plaza headed by IC PP Toll Plaza SI Ishfaq Ahmad under the supervision of SHO Police Station Awantipora Inspector Ajaz Hmad intercepted two persons identified as :
1) Junaid Tariq S/o Tariq Ahmad Khan R/o Hariparigam
2) Mubashir Ahmad Wani S/o Khazar Mohammad Wani R/o Panjpora,
who were riding on a motorcycle (Pulsar) bearing registration No. JK03M-3900.
During their search, contraband substance (charas/chura) like substance weighing approximately 01Kg 258 grams was recovered from their possession.
The motorcycle used in the commission of the offence has also been seized.
Both the accused persons have been arrested .
Accordingly a case, FIR No. 88/2026 under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered at PS Awantipora. Further investigation has been set into motion.
