Continuing its sustained drive against the drug menace, Police in Anantnag have apprehended three individuals in separate incidents and recovered significant quantities of contraband substances from their possession.
A Spokesperson said that police party from PP GBS Anantnag, during patrolling at KP Road, apprehended one person identified as Waseem Ahmad Dar son of Fayaz Ahmad Dar resident of General Bus Stand Anantnag. During search, 11 lathies of charas-like substance weighing approximately 228 grams were recovered. Accordingly, FIR No. 95/2026 stands registered at PS Anantnag.
In another incident, a police party from PP Khanabal during naka checking at Batengoo–Shoul crossing apprehended one person identified as Rameez Ahmad Dar son of Fayaz Ahmad Dar resident of Shoul, Batengoo. During search, charas-like substance weighing approximately 39 grams was recovered. FIR No. 96/2026 has been registered at PS Anantnag.
In another incident, during naka checking at Polia, Dooru, a police party apprehended one person identified as Aaqib Amin Sofi son of Mohd Amin Sofi resident of Verinag. During search, crushed charas-like substance weighing approximately 1.91kgs charas like substance was recovered from a polythene bag in his possession. Accordingly, FIR No. 47/2026 has been registered at Police Station Dooru and investigation has been taken up.
