Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that it has arrested eight drug peddlers in multiple operations across Anantnag, Baramulla and Budgam, seizing large quantities of contraband including charas, charas powder and ganja.
In a statement issued here on Saturday Police said that recoveries included over 17 kg of charas-like substance, 5.75 kg of ganja and other quantities during raids and naka checks. Several FIRs were registered and accused shifted to police custody. Police said investigations are ongoing to dismantle networks. Reiterating its commitment to eradicate drug menace, police appealed people to share inputs about drug trafficking with it, assuring therein strict action against offenders.
