Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that it has seized 12 vehicles including tractors, tippers, JCBs and a dumper across Shopian, Pulwama and Anantnag for being involved in illegal mining activities.
In a statement issued here on Saturday Police said that the said vehicles were found involved in unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals. Multiple FIRs have been registered and investigations initiated. Police said strict legal action will be taken against violators to safeguard natural resources. In its statement Police has also appealed people to report illegal mining activities, with assurance of confidentiality.
