DC Srinagar finalizes arrangements for Baisakhi festival

Srinagar : In order to review the arrangements for upcoming Baisakhi festival being celebrated on April 14, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner(DC) Srinagar, AkshayLabrooFriday at Meeting Hall of the DC Office.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Commissioner, Rifat Aftab Qureshi, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz, Superintendent of Police, Umar Shah, Joint Commissioner SMC, Nuzhat Khurshid, Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Superintending Engineer Hydraulic, Er Ambreen Anjum,  Deputy SP Traffic, Zaheer Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Umar Gulzar, Assistant Commissioner Food Safety, Yamin Ul Nabi, Executive Engineers PDD, Officers of Health, Legal Metrology and other Departments, besides President and members of Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee Srinagar.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner took a detailed assessment of the preparations and arrangements being put in place by the line departments and Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee for smooth and seamless celebrations of the festival in Srinagar District.

The DC stressed on ensuring better arrangements well in advance with regard to safe drinking water, uninterrupted power supply, first-aid, sanitation measures, smooth transport and adequate parking facilities and other related arrangements.

He also asked the concerned Departments to ensure proper sanitation and immediate repairing of defunct lights in and around the Gurdwara ChattiPadshahi, BaghatBarzulla, HMT and other prominent Gurudwaras in the City.

The DC laid emphasis on adequate arrangements of fire fighting measures particularly near the Gurudwara Langar on the occasion. He instructed the concerned to make adequate transport and parking facilities on the occasion, so that devotees do not face any inconvenience while traveling to or from Gurdwara ChattiPadshahi.

Earlier, members of Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee put forth the demands for smooth and hassle free celebrations of the festival In order to review the arrangements for ensuing Baisakhi festival being celebrated on April 14.
