Ganderbal, April 8 : An unidentified body was recovered from a canal in Thune area of Kangan in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Wednesday, officials said.
Local residents noticed the body floating in the canal and alerted the police. A team promptly reached the location and retrieved the body.
Officials said the body has been sent for medico-legal procedures to ascertain the cause of death. The identity of the deceased has not yet been established.
Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the incident. Further details are awaited.
