Pulwama : Police on Friday said that it has seized two vehicles foe being involved in unauthorized transportation of minerals in Pulwama district.
In a statement issued here on Friday Police said that a police team from Police Post Newa intercepted two tractors at Ugergund Crossing and found them loaded with illegally extracted boulders. The drivers were identified as Mohd Afzal Malik of Ugergund and Muzaffar Ahmad Bhat of Karimabad.
Both vehicles were seized, and case under FIR No. 47/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Pulwama. Further investigation is in progress. In its statement Police reiterated its commitment to curb illegal mining and appealed people to report such activities.
