Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has seized seven tractors for bwing involved in unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals from the Heerpora, Berthipora, Wachi and Turkwangam areas of Shopian district.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday Police said that five FIRs have been registered in Heerpora, Keller and Zainapora police stations. Seven tractors have also been seized for their involvement in illegal transportation of minerals. In its statement Police reaffirmed its commitment to maintain zero-tolerance policy against illegal mining, appealing people therein to cooperate with it by sharing inputs about llegal mining.
