The Meteorological Department Srinagar on Monday said that Jammu and Kashmir is likely to witness intermittent light to moderate rain and snowfall accompanied by thunder and gusty winds at most places till this evening.
According to MeT, the weather is expected to improve thereafter, with generally dry conditions likely to prevail till April 2, although light rain may occur at isolated places.
The department further said that another spell of light rain and snowfall is expected at many places across the Union Territory during April 3 and 4.
Meanwhile, an advisory issued by MeT has warned of the possibility of moderate rain and snowfall in higher reaches, accompanied by thunder and gusty winds with speeds of 40-50 kmph at several places.
Farmers have been advised to resume farm operations between March 31 and April 2, when weather conditions are expected to remain largely favourable.
Travellers have been urged to follow administrative and traffic advisories and plan their journeys accordingly.
