New Delhi, Mar 27 : As the world grapples with fuel shortages triggered by the ongoing West Asia crisis, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday said the Modi government’s decision to cut excise duty on petrol and diesel has brought much-needed relief to citizens.
In a post on X, Shah said that while several countries have increased fuel prices amid the global turmoil, the decision of the Centre to reduce excise duty reflects its people-centric governance and sensitivity towards public concerns.
He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the move, stating that it underscores the government’s commitment to shielding citizens from the impact of rising global fuel costs.
Shah also lauded the leadership of the Prime Minister, saying the timely decision would help ease the burden on the common man at a time when international markets remain volatile due to the crisis in West Asia.
