PDP President Mehbooba Mufti on Friday criticised the Jammu and Kashmir government for what she termed a delayed and inadequate response in condemning Israel’s attack on Iran.
In a post on X, Mufti expressed disappointment that the Chief Minister—“the only Muslim CM of India’s only Muslim-majority state”—took nearly a month to unequivocally condemn the attack. She termed the delay as “disheartening” and questioned the government’s stance on the issue.
Mufti also pointed out that the Punjab Assembly had acted swiftly by passing a resolution condemning the attack and expressing solidarity with Iran, becoming the first to do so.
In contrast, she alleged that the J&K government showed no urgency or genuine concern, limiting its response to rhetoric and speeches instead of taking a clear and principled stand.
