The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Kashmir received specific information that drug peddlers, namely Iftikhar Ahmad and Hussain Khan, both hailing from North Kashmir, in furtherance of a criminal conspiracy, had illegally acquired contraband substance (Heroin) and had concealed the same in a rented room at Ganai Mohalla Barzulla Srinagar.

The information further revealed that the accused persons were planning to sell the said contraband substance to other active drug peddlers as well as to the youth of District Srinagar. In this regard, Case FIR No. 06/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station ANTF Kashmir and further investigation has been taken up.

Acting swiftly on the said information, a police team under supervision of Dy SP ANTF Kashmir and overall supervision of SSP ANTF J&K, taking along Executive Magistrate Chanapora Srinagar conducted a raid at the specified location. During the operation, 0.701 Kgs of Heroin like substance has been recovered from the rented room and one accused person namely Mohammad Hussain Khan son of Kala Khan resident of Puthwari Nowgam Handwara has been apprehended on the spot from the rented room.

During questioning, the apprehended accused disclosed that he along with other associates has acquired the contraband through illegal means and were supposed to sell the same substance among other drug peddlers at District Srinagar.

Efforts are underway to trace and arrest the absconding accused persons involved in the case.

The local public has appreciated the prompt action of Police Station ANTF Kashmir for this significant achievement. By busting this drug peddling racket, a strong blow has been dealt to the network of drug peddlers operating in the area.

The general public is requested to come forward and share information regarding drug peddling activities with law enforcement agencies, so that strict legal action can be taken against such offenders in the future as well.
