B’la :Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Baramulla, Mudasir Ahmad Wani, along with his team Wednesday conducted a special enforcement drive across multiple locations in the district to enforce traffic regulations.
During the drive, a total of 47 challans were issued, amounting to ₹1,21,500. The enforcement team also initiated the process for suspension of 25 Driving Licences (DLs) for serious violations.
A total of 7 vehicles were seized, including 3 two-wheelers, 1 Light Motor Vehicle (LMV), and 3 maxi cabs for violating traffic norms.
The drive was conducted at key locations including Narbal, Palhalan, Choora, National Highway Sangrama, and other parts of Baramulla.
While talking to media, ARTO Baramulla Mudasir Ahmad Wani stated that the drive was aimed at ensuring strict compliance with traffic rules and improving road safety across the district. He emphasized that violations such as overloading, rash driving, and lack of proper documentation will be dealt with firmly. He further urged commuters to follow traffic regulations to avoid penalties and contribute towards safer roads.
