New Delhi: The Centre on Wednesday said over 39,000 infrastructure projects have been approved under the Border Area Development Programme (BADP) to improve living conditions in border regions.
In a reply in the Rajya Sabha, MoS Home Nityanand Rai said the scheme focuses on infrastructure such as roads, health facilities, schools and sanitation.
He said livelihood projects, including tourism infrastructure and skill development, have also been taken up.
The government is also implementing the Vibrant Villages Programme to ensure comprehensive development of border villages across multiple states and Union Territories.
