Srinagar, Jammu:Manoj Sinha and Omar Abdullah on Friday extended warm greetings to the people on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr and Nauroz.
In his message, the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that Eid-ul-Fitr, marking the culmination of the holy month of Ramadan, holds deep spiritual and social significance. He said the festival embodies the spirit of sacrifice and sharing, and urged people to recommit themselves to the service of humanity, especially in uplifting the poor and the needy.
He expressed hope that the festival would usher in peace, prosperity and happiness for all.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, in his message, highlighted the spiritual essence of Eid as a celebration following a month of fasting, prayers and self-discipline. He said the occasion is one of gratitude to the Almighty and an opportunity to reinforce values of compassion, generosity and unity.
“Eid is a joyous occasion that brings people together and strengthens the bonds of community. It is a time to spread happiness, extend kindness and support those in need,” he said.
The Chief Minister added that the festival reflects the ethos of communal harmony, shared heritage and cultural inclusivity in Jammu and Kashmir, reinforcing unity and peace. He prayed for lasting peace, sustained progress and prosperity for the people of the Union Territory and extended his best wishes to those celebrating Eid worldwide.
On the occasion of Nauroz, Omar Abdullah said the festival marks the arrival of spring and the beginning of the Persian New Year, symbolizing renewal, hope and harmony. He noted that it is celebrated with enthusiasm in various parts of the region and reflects a rich cultural heritage and spirit of togetherness.
He prayed for sustained peace, development and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir and hoped the festival would bring joy and positivity to every household.
