No reports of crescent sighting,Ramzan to complete 30 days

Srinagar: Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated across Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, March 21, as the crescent moon of Shawwal was not sighted on Thursday evening.
Grand Mufti Nasir said no confirmed reports of moon sighting were received from any part of the Union Territory, leading to the decision to observe Eid on Saturday.
“With no credible sighting reports, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Saturday. The holy month of Ramzan will thus complete 30 days,” he said.
He extended greetings to the people and prayed for peace, harmony, and prosperity across the region.
Following the announcement, preparations for the festival have intensified across the Valley, with markets witnessing a surge in shoppers purchasing garments, bakery items, and other essentials.
Eid prayers are scheduled to be offered at Eidgahs and mosques across Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, marking the culmination of the fasting month with religious fervour.
