District Social Welfare felicitates outstanding girl achievers under BBBP initiative in Poonch

Poonch :Department of Social Welfare, Poonch Wednesday  organised a grand felicitation ceremony under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative to honour outstanding girl achievers of the district for their exceptional accomplishments in academics, competitive examinations, sports and innovation.

The event celebrated girls who secured top positions in 10th and 12th examinations, qualified the prestigious NEET examination and achieved success in the JKAS examination, along with those excelling in sports and innovative pursuits.

MLA Haveli Ajaz Ahmed Jan and MLA Surankote Choudhary Muhammad Akram graced the occasion. Deputy Commissioner Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma also attended the programme.

The dignitaries addressed the gathering and lauded the achievements of the women achievers, appreciating their hard work, dedication and perseverance. They emphasized the importance of empowering girls through education and equal opportunities, highlighting their vital role in shaping a progressive society.

District Social Welfare Officer Khalil A Banday presented the welcome address and highlighted the department’s continued commitment towards the upliftment and empowerment of women and girls in the district.

On the occasion, the achievers were felicitated with tablets (electronic gadgets) and Certificates of Appreciation by the District Administration Poonch as a token of recognition for their excellence.

The awardees also shared their experiences, expressing gratitude to the Department of Social Welfare and the District Administration for recognising their efforts and motivating them to strive for greater success.

Among other prominent dignitaries present were ACR Muhammad Sayeed, Principal GDC Poonch Dr.Jasbir Singh, Principal GDC Surankote Prof. Rani Mughal, GM DIC Naeem Ul Nisa, CEO Poonch Mukhtar Manhas, Principal AnjumanShaheen, besides senior officers of the district administration, parents and students.
