*Registry to Remain Open on March 21 Despite Holiday Adjustment*

New Delhi, Mar 18 : The Supreme Court of India has issued a circular stating that the holiday on account of Eid-ul-Fitr will be observed depending on the visibility of the moon and the official declaration by the Government of India.

As per the circular issued by the Administrative General Branch, a copy of which lies with media, if Eid-ul-Fitr is observed on March 20 (Friday) or March 22 (Sunday), instead of the scheduled March 21 (Saturday), the court and its registry will observe the holiday accordingly.

However, it has been clarified that the Registry of the Supreme Court will remain open on March 21 (Saturday), irrespective of the change in the holiday schedule.

The circular further stated that the decision will be implemented based on the official announcement of the festival as a gazetted holiday by the Government of India through television and other media, depending upon the moon sighting.
