Bandipora :Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, ZaffarHusson Shawl, on Monday chaired a meeting to review preparations for the Revision of Panchayat Electoral Roll 2026 at the Mini Secretariat Bandipora.

Deputy District Election Officer Bandipora, Hilal Ahmad briefed the chair about the overall preparedness for the revision exercise and informed that necessary arrangements are being put in place at the district and block levels.

The meeting was attended by Electoral Registration Officers of the three Assembly Constituencies, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Block Development Officers (AEROs Panchayat) and other concerned officers. Officials from Gurez and Tulail blocks joined the meeting through virtual mode.

During the meeting, various agenda points related to the revision process were discussed in detail, including integration of supplementary electoral data by NIC, downloading and printing of draft electoral rolls at the district level, and ensuring availability of required forms such as PEB-2A, PEB-2B, PEB-2C and PEB-2D at block offices.

The meeting also discussed printing of electoral rolls in both English and Urdu versions, updating lists of EROs, AEROs and PEBOs on the district website, identification of manpower for data entry and form collection at block level, and ensuring availability of necessary infrastructure including internet and computers at block headquarters.

The ADC stressed that the process of integration of supplementary data and downloading of electoral rolls must be carried out carefully, particularly while handling deletion of entries to avoid any discrepancies.

He also directed the concerned officers to hold meetings with political party representatives and Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to ensure transparency and awareness during the revision exercise.

Further, directions were issued regarding organisation of special camps at polling booth locations, proper disposal of claims and objections by the Electoral Registration Officers, and timely submission of reports to the State Election Commission through the designated channels.

The ADC emphasized coordinated efforts among all departments to ensure that the revision process is carried out smoothly and that no eligible voter is left out of the Panchayat electoral roll.
