Former J&K DGP R R Swain Appointed First OUSSSC Chairman

Bhubaneswar: Former Director General of Police (DGP) of Jammu and Kashmir Rashmi Ranjan Swain, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Odisha Uniformed Services Staff Selection Commission (OUSSSC).
A 1991-batch IPS officer from Odisha, Swain who recently retired as DGP of Jammu and Kashmir in 2024, becomes the first Chairman of OUSSSC.
A native of Rourkela, Swain had a distinguished career, serving as SSP in Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Poonch, and Ramban districts. He also held key roles in the J&K Vigilance agency and was the Special DG CID. Swain is known for his tough stance against terrorism and was instrumental in reducing terror funding networks in Jammu and Kashmir.
