DDC Doda convenes public grievances redressal camp at Gandoh

Doda : District Development Commissioner Doda Krishan Lal Wednesday  convened a public grievances redressal camp at Gandoh (Sub-Divisional Headquarters), facilitating a direct interaction of local people with the district administration to highlight their grievances, demands and developmental concerns.

The public representatives including BDC members, former Sarpanches, NGOs and residents projected several demands seeking road connectivity to the TRC building, maintenance and blacktopping of roads, connectivity to Dadkai and Dhadkai villages, improvement of roads in Chilly Pingal area, adequate power supply, completion of pending Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) works, payment of pending dues to contractors and initiation of work on the proposed hospital at Sinoo.

Issues regarding shortage of staff at PHC Sinoo and PHC Chilly Pingal ambulance services, besides demands seeking fire and emergency services, establishment of a police post, playground facilities, parking and toilet facilities in the main market, ration card corrections, centre for date of birth corrections and compensation for damaged houses were also highlighted. The public also demanded relief for flood-affected families, pension enhancement under Social Welfare schemes, establishment  of fruit mandi, effective implementation of agriculture and DattiAabha initiatives and transparency in MGNREGA through face identification attendance.

The Deputy Commissioner assured the public that all issues raised would be examined in detail and taken up with the concerned departments and higher authorities for early resolution. He directed the PWD (R&B) department to look into road maintenance and landslide issues and instructed the Chief Education Officer to ensure availability of teaching staff in schools including Middle School Silent Village Dhadkai. The Social Welfare Department was asked to ensure pension benefits to all eligible beneficiaries.

The DDC also assured improvement in power supply, redressal of land compensation issues, renewal of labour and job cards under MGNREGA and resolution of PMAY and other matters. He directed the SDM to examine the complaint about the wine shop, while also assuring provision of a small fire tender vehicle for the area.

The DC also participated in a plantation drive organised by the Forest Department under the supervision of Range Officer Adil Shan to promote environmental awareness and highlight the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative. Saplings were distributed among students. The ICDS Department provided baby kits to beneficiaries and the Social Welfare Department distributed school bags among students.

The programme was attended by PO ICDS Akhtar Hussain Qazi; ACD Din Mohammad Afaqi; CPO Manesh Kumar Manhas; SDM Arun Kumar Badyal; SE R&B, ACP Musharraf Hafalong with several district officers, officials, public representatives and members of civil society.
