India, Finland Elevate Ties To Strategic Partnership: India and Finland on Thursday elevated their bilateral ties to a Strategic Partnership in Digitalization and Sustainability during the state visit of Finnish President Dr. Alexander Stubb. During talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi, the leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in emerging technologies, climate action and innovation. Both sides agreed to expand collaboration in digital transformation and sustainable development.
2. India, Finland Aim To Double Bilateral Trade By 2030: India and Finland have set a target to double bilateral trade by 2030, leaders of the two countries said during Finnish President Alexander Stubb’s state visit to India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Stubb encouraged businesses to utilise opportunities created by the India–EU Free Trade Agreement and boost trade, investment and technology partnerships.
3. India, Finland to Boost Cooperation in AI, 6G: India and Finland have agreed to deepen cooperation in artificial intelligence, 5G, 6G and high-performance computing. The two countries will establish a Joint Working Group on Digitalization to promote collaboration in emerging technologies and innovation sectors.
4. India, Finland Strengthen Clean Energy Partnership: India and Finland have agreed to enhance cooperation in renewable energy, green hydrogen and sustainable technologies. Both sides will also work together on circular economy initiatives, climate action and smart energy solutions to support the global transition to clean energy.
5. Finland Supports India’s UNSC Permanent Membership: Finland has reiterated its support for India’s permanent membership in a reformed United Nations Security Council. During bilateral talks, the leaders stressed the need for UN reforms to make the global body more representative and effective in addressing current geopolitical challenges.
