Shahzad Alam visits Sub-division D.H. Pora, reviews functioning of EMRS Tangmarg

Kulgam : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Shahzad Alam, Wednesday  visited Sub-division, D.H. Pora, where he inspected the functioning of the Sub-District Hospital (SDH)  and the Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) at Tangmarg, taking stock of the facilities available at both institutions.

At the Eklavya Model Residential School, the DC reviewed the progress of ongoing projects, including the construction of the hostel, Principal’s residential quarters, and other infrastructure works. He directed the concerned Executive Engineer to set clear targets for timely completion of these projects and ensure adherence to the stipulated timelines. He also instructed that proper landscaping of lawns and surrounding areas be undertaken to enhance the overall campus environment.

During his visit to the school, the DC interacted with students and emphasized the importance of providing quality education. He urged the faculty to maintain high academic standards and ensure holistic development of students.

At  Sub-District Hospital D.H. Pora, the DC  assessed the range and quality of healthcare services being provided to the public. He inspected various wards and sections of the hospital and reviewed the availability of essential facilities.

The doctors apprised him of the additional equipment required to further strengthen healthcare services at the hospital.

Subsequently, the DC visited the Aharbal tourist spot and took stock of the facilities available for visitors, directing concerned officials to ensure proper upkeep and improved amenities. The visit was attended by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) D.H. Pora, Bashir Ul Hassan, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Executive Engineer R&B, Tehsildar D.H. Pora and other officers.
