Jammu: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Chowdhary and Education Minister Sakina Itoo in separate greeting messages on Tuesday extended their warm greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the auspicious occasion of Holi.
In his felicitation message Chief Minister Omar Abdullah described Holi as a vibrant celebration that symbolises togetherness, joy and the triumph of harmony over discord.
He expressed hope that the “Festival of Colors” would further strengthen communal harmony, promote mutual respect and deepen the enduring bonds of brotherhood across the region.
The Chief Minister prayed for sustained peace, prosperity and progress in Jammu and Kashmir, and expressed confidence that the festival would usher in renewed hope and happiness for all residents.
In his greeting message Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Chowdhary said that Holi holds deep religious and cultural significance and is celebrated with great fervour and enthusiasm by the people cutting across religious and social lines. “My warm greetings to all. May this auspicious occasion fill our lives with colours of joy, strength and good health,” he said. He observed that Jammu and Kashmir has always stood as an example of harmony, mutual respect and brotherhood, where people wholeheartedly participate in each other’s festivals and celebrations, reinforcing the spirit of unity in diversity. The Deputy Chief Minister expressed hope that the festival would further strengthen communal harmony, promote peace and deepen bonds of love and understanding among all sections of society.
In her greeting message, the Minister for Health and Education Sakina Itoo said that Holi symbolizes unity, harmony and triumph of goodness, encouraging people to celebrate the festival with mutual respect, compassion and spirit of togetherness. “These cultural festivals strengthen our social fabric by promoting inclusiveness and brotherhood across communities”, she said. The Minister prayed that this festival of colours brings joy, prosperity and renewed positivity to every household and fills lives with colours of optimism and strengthens bonds of unity across regions. She also prayed for peace, progress and prosperity of entire Jammu and Kashmir.
