GGM Science College, Jammu observed National Science Day with Academic Zeal

Jammu| Feb, 27:The Science Club of GGM Science College, Jammu, in collaboration with the Department of Zoology, celebrated National Science Day with great enthusiasm and intellectual vibrancy on the college campus.

The programme aimed to promote scientific temper among students and highlight the crucial role of science in national development. It began with a welcome address by Dr. Brinder Kumar, Convener of the Science Club, who acknowledged the presence of the Worthy Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, faculty members from the Departments of Zoology and Botany, and participating students. He emphasized the importance of National Science Day in celebrating India’s scientific achievements and motivating young scholars towards research and innovation. In his presidential address, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta underscored the essential role of science and technology in nation-building. He urged students to develop a scientific mindset and contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, noting that innovation, research, and technological advancement are vital for sustainable growth and global competitiveness. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. B.P. Singh, Head of the Department of Botany, who focused on the theme “Women in Science: Catalysing Viksit Bharat.” He highlighted the significant contributions of women scientists and the necessity of fostering inclusive participation and leadership opportunities for women in science to achieve comprehensive national progress. The event was attended by notable faculty members, including Dr. Rahul Kaith, Dr. Rohit Bhardwaj, Dr. Sapna, Dr. Sumera, Dr. Majid, and Dr. Syed Mujtaba.
