SHEW organises Nutritional Kit Distribution prog at SDH Sedow

Shopian : Sankalp Hub for Empowerment of Women, Mission Shakti Shopian, in collaboration with the Department of Health, Thursdayorganised a Nutritional Kit Distribution Programme for pregnant women under the flagship initiative of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao at Sub District Hospital, Sedow.
The programme was conducted with the objective of promoting maternal health, nutritional awareness and overall well-being of expecting mothers.
During the session, Dr. Parvaiz educated the women about the importance of maintaining a balanced and nutritious diet during pregnancy. He highlighted that proper nutrition plays a vital role in ensuring the healthy growth and development of the baby while also safeguarding the mother’s health.
The Mission Coordinator for Sankalp Hub addressed the gathering and urged the women to prioritise self-care. She emphasised that mothers shoulder significant responsibilities within their families and society, and therefore, their physical as well as mental well-being must not be overlooked.
Furthermore, the Gender Specialist from Sankalp Hub provided detailed information about various welfare schemes available for women and girls. The participants were guided on eligibility criteria, benefits, and the step-by-step process to apply for these schemes, empowering them to access government support effectively.
The programme concluded with the distribution of nutritional kits among pregnant women.
