Airtel Partners with Zscaler to Combat AI-Driven Cyber Threats

Srinagar : Zscaler, Inc., in collaboration with Bharti Airtel, has launched the AI & Cyber Threat Research Center in India, aimed at enhancing the nation’s cyber resilience and protecting critical sectors such as telecommunications, banking, and energy.
The initiative seeks to foster collaboration among the private sector, public sector, academia, and government, with a focus on building a future-ready talent pipeline to support India’s digital transformation and security goals. India’s digital landscape is rapidly evolving, leading to an expanded attack surface that is increasingly targeted by sophisticated cyber threats. Zscaler’s ThreatLabz India has reported millions of infiltration attempts monthly, including significant campaigns related to nation-state cyber espionage and a surge in intrusion attempts against various Indian entities. The growing complexity of cyber threats necessitates a shift from traditional perimeter-based security models to more robust, secure-by-design frameworks. The objectives of the AI & Cyber Threat Research Center are structured around four strategic pillars: protecting national cyber resilience through actionable intelligence, partnering with government agencies to prevent cyber-attacks, promoting the adoption of AI-driven security frameworks and Zero Trust architecture, and enhancing the cybersecurity talent pipeline through specialized certifications. This initiative is positioned as a critical step towards ensuring a secure and digitally self-reliant future for India.
