Jammu : The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) Wednesday commenced a four-week Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programme (ESDP) at the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Jammu, under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme. The initiative is funded by the Ministry of MSME, Government of India and implemented by the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir.
Thirty-two aspiring entrepreneurs are participating in the 104-hour intensive training programme. The ESDP is part of a larger initiative implemented across all districts of Jammu and Kashmir to foster entrepreneurship among youth and equip them with tools to manage sustainable business ventures.
Speaking on the occasion, District Nodal Officer JKEDI Jammu Rajesh Kotwal provided an overview of the ESDP and highlighted the institute’s role in promoting self-employment. He reaffirmed JKEDI’s commitment to empowering local youth through capacity-building initiatives.
The curriculum includes modules on enterprise management, marketing strategies, business simulations, market surveys and field visits. This practical approach is designed to build core entrepreneurial competencies and help participants become self-reliant job creators.
