Significant Quantity of Contraband Substance recovered from Residential House in Shopian: Police

Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has recovered a significant quantity of contraband substance from a residential house in Khudpora, Shopian.
In a statement issued here on Friday police said that Police Station Shopian has registered a case under FIR No. 11/2026 of the NDPS Act following specific inputs regarding drug-related activities. A police team, accompanied by an Executive Magistrate raided the residence of one Danish Maqbool Malik in Khudpora Shopian. During the operation, authorities seized 3.072 kilograms of a substance resembling Poppy Straw. However, the accused managed to escape, and efforts are on to apprehend him. In its statement police reaffirmed its commitment to combat drug peddling activities, appealing therein people to share inputs about drug abuse or trafficking to the helpline 9596768831 (PCR Shopian), assuring that the identities of informants will remain confidential.
