Budgam : District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Budgam Tuesday conducted a meeting on Mediation 2.0 with the lawyers of District Budgam.
The meeting was attended by the members of the Bar and aimed at strengthening the culture of amicable dispute resolution through mediation.
The meeting was chaired by Om Prakash, Chairman DLSA (PD&SJ) Budgam and was attended by Abdul Bari, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Budgam, and Tasneem Kawoos, Munsiff, Budgam.
The deliberations focused on reinforcing mediation mechanisms, promoting peaceful and consensual settlement of disputes, and ensuring the effective implementation of the Mediation for the Nation 2.0 initiative.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that mediation is a time-saving, cost-effective, and flexible dispute resolution mechanism that significantly reduces the burden on courts while preserving relationships between the parties. In view of the growing pendency of cases, mediation was highlighted as a vital tool for achieving speedy and effective justice.
It was further stressed that mediation encourages voluntary participation, confidentiality, and mutually acceptable outcomes, thereby enhancing public confidence in the justice delivery system. All trained mediators and newly empanelled mediators were directed to make dedicated efforts to ensure that the mediation process is effective, accessible, and result-oriented. Emphasis was also laid on spreading awareness among litigants and advocates about the benefits of mediation, so that disputes can be resolved at an early stage without prolonged litigation.
The President of the Bar Association, Javid M. Hubbi, assured the gathering of full cooperation and maximum support for the Mediation Drive 2.0.
The meeting concluded with a collective resolve to work in close coordination to make Mediation for the Nation 2.0 a successful initiative towards achieving timely, peaceful, and inclusive justice.
