Secy DLSA G’bal holds Review Meeting with Panel Lawyers of Distt

Ganderbal : Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Ganderbal, Sheikh Babar Hussain, convened a review meeting with Panel Lawyers as per Calendar of activities for the month of February, 2026.
The meeting brought together panel lawyers from DLSA Ganderbal, TLSC Ganderbal and TLSC Kangan with an objective to discuss challenges in uploading Data in Legal Services Case Management, key issues, strategies and progress of assigned cases of legal aid beneficiaries.
During the meeting, Secretary, DLSA Ganderbal, emphasized the importance of regularly updating cases assigned to panel lawyers on the LACMS/LSAMS NALSA portal. To ensure record accuracy and reconciliation, Panel Lawyers are requested to submit list of cases assigned to them with requisite records pending before different courts so that same be assigned to them on the NALSA portal as well. He stressed that timely updates would ensure transparency, efficiency, and effective monitoring of cases, ultimately contributing to the delivery of quality legal aid services. He further emphasized that the panel lawyers will maintain regular communication with clients, keeping them informed about case progress and panel lawyers will adhere to a strict code of conduct, ensuring professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality in their interactions with clients and the court. Panel lawyers will adopt a client-centric approach, taking into account the unique needs and circumstances of vulnerable populations, including children, women, and persons with disabilities.
By emphasizing these aspects, the Secretary aimed to ensure that panel lawyers provide high-quality, client-focused legal aid services while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. They are also requested to act as an Ambassador/ Resource person for creating awareness among the general public regarding mediation for the nation 2.0 Campaign.
He further emphasized the importance of coordination between panel lawyers to ensure effective and competent delivery of legal services. He also discussed key aspects including, review of pending cases and strategies for effective representation of legal aid beneficiaries, enhancing access to justice for marginalized sections of society and increasing awareness about available legal services.
The Panel Lawyers presented feedback on their assigned cases. The Secretary provided guidance and support, ensuring that the panel lawyers are equipped to handle complex cases and provide effective representation to legal aid beneficiaries in a humane and affectionate manner especially in maintenance cases.
The active participation and contributions of all panel lawyers were highly appreciated, underscoring the collective commitment in enhancing the delivery of effective legal services.
Secretary, DLSA Ganderbal urged the panel lawyers to work diligently towards ensuring that marginalized communities receive quality legal representation, and that justice is delivered in a fair, timely, and accessible manner.
