2-Day Krishi Udyami Training Prog commences at KVK Shopian

Shopian : A two-day training programme for Krishi Udyamiscommenced Thursday at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Shopian.
The programme focuses on agri value chains, brand packaging and digital marketing strategies for agri-businesses, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), start-ups and rural enterprises. Kisan KhidmatGhars (KKGs) from across the district participated in the training.
The technical session was conducted by Dr. Shafi Ahmad, Scientist (Post-Harvest Technology), SKUAST–Kashmir, who deliberated on post-harvest management, value addition, branding and market linkage strategies to enhance farmers’ income.
Chief Agriculture Officer (CAO) Shopian, Mohd Rafiq, while speaking on the occasion, emphasized promotion of self-employment, strengthening Krishi Udyamis and achieving saturation of schemes in every panchayat. He stressed the importance of identifying farmers’ issues and addressing them in coordination with scientists. He called for honest work culture, systematic data collection and ensuring doorstep delivery of agricultural services under the “one door, one step” approach.
The CAO assured full support to Krishi Udyamis, including facilitation of inputs and services at every KKG level, and highlighted plans for milk packaging initiatives in the coming season. He also interacted with the Krishi Udyamis and encouraged them to actively utilize available government schemes.
Head KVK Shopian, Dr. Zaffer Ahmad Badri, in his address, highlighted the objectives of the training programme and reiterated KVK’s commitment to capacity building, innovation and sustainable agri-entrepreneurship in the district.
Among others, the programme was attended by officers from the Agriculture Department, Scientists from KVK and Krishi Udyamis of the district.
