Officers imparted training on PMFBY Implementation, Claims Process

Jammu : A training programme on the implementation framework, scheme coverage and functioning of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) was organised Thursday at the Conference Hall, Directorate of Agriculture, Krishi Bhawan, Talab Tillo.
The programme, presided over by Director Agriculture Jammu, Anil Gupta, aimed at sensitizing officers to the use of digital platforms related to the scheme and its operational procedures for effective implementation of PMFBY.
The programme was attended by Joint Director Agriculture Extension Jammu Sanjay Anand, SMS (RL) Krishan Kant; PMFBY Nodal Officer (Directorate of Agriculture Jammu) Anirudh Bhat, DAOs (Extension) from all districts, besides district-level PMFBY users, officers and staff of the Agriculture Department. All Chief Officers joined the training through VC.
State Head, IndusInd General Insurance, Mahavir Singh Rawat, State Head, Bajaj General Insurance, Sonu Kashyap and other staff members were also present.
The Director Agriculture Jammu emphasised the need for capacity building, inter-departmental coordination and strict adherence to operational guidelines to ensure timely and effective implementation of PMFBY.
Nodal Officer Anirudh Bhat delivered a detailed presentation on various aspects of the scheme, including coverage under the scheme, Farmer Corner, risk coverage, functioning of the National Crop Insurance Portal (NCIP), operational procedures, and the role and responsibilities of district-level committees in ensuring effective implementation of the scheme.
Sonu Kashyap conducted a technical session on crop loss assessment through CLAP Portal, elaborating on the methodology and procedures for conducting crop loss surveys under PMFBY. He highlighted the importance of accurate field assessment and timely reporting to ensure transparency and efficiency in claim settlement.
The training programme concluded with an interactive discussion and a call for proactive engagement by all stakeholders to further improve implementation of PMFBY at the grassroots level.
