Chennai, Feb 2: Italy defeatec Canada by 10 runs in the first warm up match ahead of the World T20 championship beginning on February six at the MA Chidambaram here tonight. . Batting first, Italy scored 156 or four, with middle order batter Smuts top scoring with 49 runs of 37 balls with five fours and a six.
Thanks to short contributions from the top and middle order, Italy managed to cross the 150-mark.
In reply, Canada fell apart at the late stages after a good start adding 55 in 6.4 overs and fell short by ten runs.
