Says,“Majority of Villages Covered in the District, Over 92% Jamabandis Digitised”
Budgam : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, Saturday chaired a detailed review meeting to assess the progress of digitisation of revenue records, particularly Jamabandis, across all tehsils of the district.
The meeting was held at the DC Office Complex, Budgam, and was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Budgam , Mehraj ud din shah; all Sub Divisional Magistrates (SDMs), all Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars (Headquarters), and other senior revenue officials.
During the meeting, a comprehensive tehsil-wise review of Jamabandi digitisation was conducted. It was informed that out of a total of 503 villages in District Budgam, Jamabandis of 414 villages have been frozen, while Khasra approval has reached an overall level of 92.93 percent across the district.
Tehsil-wise status revealed that Chadoora, Char-i-Sharief, Khag and Magam have achieved 100 percent Khasra approval, reflecting significant progress in digitisation efforts. Likewise, Beerwah has achieved 92.2 percent Khasra approval with 45 Jamabandis frozen, while Budgam tehsil has recorded 92.7 percent approval with 93 Jamabandis frozen.
It was informed that B.K. Pora has achieved 99.6 percent approval, with 35 Jamabandis frozen. Narbal has achieved 99.14 percent approval, while Khansahib has recorded 67.8 percent Khasra approval with 57 Jamabandis frozen.
The DC was informed about the pace of digitisation work in each tehsil and the status of freezing of Jamabandis village-wise.
On the occasion, the DC reviewed the progress achieved so far in detail, and identified remaining gaps for focused action.
He emphasized that digitisation of Jamabandis is a critical reform measure for strengthening land governance, enhancing transparency, and improving accessibility of land records for citizens. He said that the importance of maintaining accuracy, completeness and integrity of digitised records was highlighted during the review.
The DC stressed that all remaining villages must be covered on priority and that the digitisation process should be expedited in a time-bound manner.
He directed that special focus be laid on tehsils with comparatively lower approval percentages to bring them at par with high-performing tehsils.
The DC further emphasised that strict quality control measures must be ensured so that errors and discrepancies are avoided.
The DC directed that proper verification, cross-checking and validation of records be carried out before final freezing to ensure reliability of digitised data.
The DC also stressed the need for close monitoring at the supervisory level and regular review of progress to ensure timely completion of digitisation targets.
Officers were directed to maintain close coordination among field staff and technical teams to ensure smooth and uninterrupted progress of work.
The DC reiterated the district administration is committed towards achieving 100 percent digitisation of Jamabandis and directed all concerned officers to work with enhanced focus and accountability to complete the remaining work at the earliest in the larger public interest.
