J&K Bank celebrates 77th Republic Day with patriotic fervour
Jammu: As part of countrywide festivities, J&K Bank celebrated the 77th Republic Day with great fervour across its areas of operations.
MD & CEO Amitava Chatterjee unfurled the national tricolour during the main function held at the Bank’s Jammu Divisional Office, in the presence of Executive Director Sudhir Gupta, Chief General Manager Sunit Kumar, General Managers, DGMs, senior officers amid a large gathering of Bank staff.
Addressing the gathering on the occassion, MD & CEO Amitava Chatterjee emphasized the importance of economic self-reliance as a national imperative and moral responsibility, highlighting its focus on people, productivity, and purpose. He articulated the alignment of J&K Bank’s legacy with India’s national vision, noting the Bank’s long-standing role as a development partner in the socio-economic transformation of Jammu & Kashmir, with a commitment to inclusive and sustainable growth. Chatterjee pointed out the Bank’s active involvement in the UT Government’s Mission YUVA program, which aims to foster entrepreneurship and self-employment by providing timely and affordable credit, thereby transforming job-seekers into job-creators. Additionally, the Bank organized a Blood Donation-cum-Health Screening Camp in collaboration with the Directorate of Health Services and Ummeed Foundation, showcasing its commitment to community welfare and preventive healthcare. The initiative saw significant participation from Bank staff, who voluntarily donated blood, and over 100 individuals received health screenings, particularly focusing on cardiac health. In his remarks, Chatterjee highlighted the necessity of such initiatives in promoting awareness and preventive healthcare practices, reinforcing community well-being. He announced plans to expand health and wellness interventions through the Bank’s CSR program in collaboration with government departments and non-profit organizations, aiming to enhance societal health outcomes. The event also included a ceremonial flag unfurling by Chief General Manager Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat at the Bank’s Corporate Headquarters in Srinagar, with similar functions held across various divisions and zones. The celebrations concluded with a collective pledge from the staff to contribute meaningfully to the nation’s progress through dedicated service.
