New Delhi| Jan, 26 :  ‎Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday extended greetings to the nation on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day, calling the day a powerful symbol of India’s freedom, Constitution, and democratic values, and urging citizens to renew their collective resolve to build a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).

‎In a message posted on X, the Prime Minister said, “Best wishes on Republic Day. May this occasion add renewed energy and enthusiasm in our collective resolve to build a Viksit Bharat.” Underscoring the significance of the day, PM Modi described Republic Day as a unifying force that inspires national reconstruction. “Ganatantra Diwas hamari swatantrata, Samvidhan aur loktantrik moolyon ka sashakt pratik hai. Yeh parv humein ekjut hokar rashtra nirmaan ke sankalp ke saath aage badhne ki nayi urja aur prerana deta hai,” he said.

‎The Prime Minister also invoked a Sanskrit verse to underline the importance of freedom and unity, writing: “Paratantrya-abhibhutasya deshasyabhyudayah kutah. Atah swatantryam aptavyam, aikyam swatantrya-sadhanam.” (The rise of a nation enslaved is impossible; therefore, freedom must be attained, and unity is the means to freedom.)

‎Extending greetings to all citizens, PM Modi added, “Sabhi deshvasiyon ko Ganatantra Diwas ki bahut-bahut badhai. Bharat ki aan-baan aur shaan ka pratik yeh rashtriya mahaparv aap sabhi ke jeevan mein nayi urja aur naye utsaah ka sanchar kare. Viksit Bharat ka sankalp aur adhik sudridh ho, yahi kaamna hai.”

‎Republic Day marks the adoption of the Constitution of India on January 26, 1950, formally establishing the country as a republic. The day is celebrated with a grand parade in New Delhi and events across states, highlighting India’s democratic journey, cultural diversity, and growing global stature.
