Baramulla: Jan 23, Amid ongoing snowfall and difficult weather conditions, officers and personnel of district police Baramulla have carried out various high-stakes rescue and relief operations in various areas of the district. Some of the more prominent ones are listed below:
1. A distress call was received from Chukar regarding a woman suffering from a heart ailment. Under the supervision of SDPO Pattan, Aatiqa Begum, wife of Nazir Ahmad Gogri, resident of Chukar, Pattan, was safely shifted to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Pattan for medical treatment.
2. SDPO Kreeri along with SHO Kreeri and IC Police Post Wagoora conducted rescue operations in Thindma, Wagoora, and other adjoining areas of Sub-Division Kreeri. A woman who had suffered a heart attack and was stranded in heavy snowfall in the Thindma area was also safely evacuated and shifted to SDH Kreeri for immediate medical care. Several other patients were evacuated to hospitals, and multiple vehicles stranded due to snowfall were safely retrieved.
3. A critically ill child, Muneeb ibn Owais, son of Owais Ahmad Malla, resident of Wagoora, was evacuated by IC Police Post Wagoora in his own vehicle and shifted to SDH Kreeri.
Despite adverse weather conditions, the timely and coordinated efforts of police ensured prompt medical assistance and rescue to those in need.
