DC Kulgam visits Mechanical Field Sub-Division

Athar reviews machinery availability,departmental preparedness for snow clearance

Kulgam: In order to ensure timely snow clearance across the district, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan, visited the Mechanical Field Sub-Division, Chawalgam, Kulgam.
During the visit, the DC took a detailed stock of the availability of snow clearance machines, the snow clearance plan, and the functioning of control roo
AEE, Mechanical Engineering Department, briefed the DC about the availability of machinery and informed that 25 machines, including two snow cutters, are available with the department.
He further informed that Snow Clearance Control Rooms have been established at Chawalgam, Kulgam, and Bathipora. The contact numbers of the Mechanical Control Rooms are 01931-294167, 9622446646, 7006219884, and 7889390253.
With regard to the positioning of machines, it was shared that machines have been stationed at the DH Pora Control Room for snow clearance in the Noorabad area.
It was shared that one machine will be pre-positioned for the Kund area, while 14 machines are kept in ready mode for the rest of Kulgam, stationed at Chawalgam.
The public has also been advised to contact the District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC) / 24×7 District Control Room, Kulgam, on the helpline numbers 01931-295900 and 9103424365 for any assistance.
The DC instructed the officers to keep all men and machinery in a state of readiness to ensure timely snow clearance from all roads and to avoid any inconvenience to the general public.
Accompanying the DC were ADC Viqar Ahmed Giri, ACR Riyaz Ahmad Shah, and other officers.
